This program offers boys and girls in Kindergarten-2nd grade the opportunity to play football in a safe and organized setting. Emphasis will be on the development of skills, teamwork, and game rules. Drills are used to teach skills and games are played to reinforce those skills and to have FUN!  Coaches will be needed!

Sports Camps

2024 NE Iowa Football Camp

This is a non-contact camp. All campers will be instructed in both offensive and defensive fundamentals, including competitive drills. Charles City Football staff and alumni players will do all instruction. Each camper needs to wear athletic shoes, shirt, shorts, socks and change into football cleats (if possible). NO hats or jewelry. All campers are required to fill out a registration form, full payment, and a completed Release and Medical Authorization form turned into the Charles City YMCA to secure a spot in camp. Refunds will only be given when we receive written notice from a physician stating that the athlete is unable to participate in the camp. If this occurs, a $5 administration fee will be deducted from your refund.

Tumbling

As of now the YMCA is currently looking for a Tumbling Instructor. There will be no classes until an Instructor is found.

Youth Wrestling / CWC - Chucktown Wrestling Club

The Chucktown Wrestling Club's goal is to advance the sport of wrestling locally by providing quality coaching, instruction, and competition opportunities to the youth of Charles City. We will make every effort to ensure the wrestlers in our program get age / ability appropriate instruction and challenges that will enhance their lives as competitors as well as students and citizens. Our athletes will practice and compete with pride and intensity.

Silver Group (Beginners):

This is the group that consists of 5 year olds through 2nd graders that have never wrestled or have not wrestled very much. This level is for the wrestler that will go and wrestle in 4 or less local tournaments this next wrestling season. Coaches reserve the right to move kids to different levels with the permission and cooperation from the parent.

Gold Group (2+ Years Experience / 3rd Grade or Older):

This level is for kids in Kindergarten - 6th Grade with at least 2 years of wrestling experience. These wrestlers must prove proficiency in necessary skills in order to be in this level. Advanced Wrestlers should be seeking out tournaments weekly and should participate in the AAU and USA District Qualifying Meets
